Will this make my car louder?

It depends on the system you choose. Manta offers three noise levels:

  • Quiet (close to factory), Medium (sporty note), and Loud (aggressive). A straight-pipe system will be significantly louder, while a system with a large muffler will keep things subtle.

How loud is this system (in dB)?

Exact dB varies by car, but generally:

  • Quiet/Resonated: ~82-85dB (Similar to stock)
  • Medium: ~88-90dB (Sporty, typically street legal)
  • Loud/Pipe Only: 95dB+ (Aggressive, for off-road use)

What’s the best sounding exhaust for a V8?

For that iconic V8 rumble, a twin 2.5-inch or single 3-inch system with high-flow mufflers is usually best. This setup removes the restriction of the stock muffler to release the deep V8 note without causing unbearable cabin drone.

What causes exhaust drone and how to avoid it?

Drone is a vibrating frequency inside the cabin at cruising speeds. It’s caused by poor muffler design. We avoid this by testing various muffler and resonator combinations to cancel out those specific frequencies.

Can I change the muffler for a quieter/louder sound?

Yes, Manta systems are modular. If you buy a loud version and decide it’s too much, you can purchase a muffler section later and bolt it in to quieten it down.

Does sound change with material or wall thickness?

Slightly. Stainless steel tends to have a slightly higher pitch or "tinny" crispness, whereas aluminised steel often produces a deeper, duller thud. Thicker wall tubing also helps deepen the tone.
